make up time, just the way it is. People on University Street
experience the same thing.
A considerable problem is Alder Street from the Willamette
River and exiting onto East Amazon which is a dedicated
bicycle path. It is the "bicycle freeway" from all of south
Eugene from the river.
I read, almost without belief, the City's response to the
issue at the corner of 32nd and Alder going south. They said
they didn't have a traffic count. Goes without saying, the
street is blocked off. Without blocking off the southbound
traffic on Alder people would drive south on it as the only
alternative to get away from the terrible corner of 32nd and
Hilyard coupled with the stop light at 33rd.
People will do anything they can to keep off Hilyard if they
want to go south, especially to Dillard Road and Fox Hollow
Road.
drive 32nd at least three times a day. Drivers go around the
barrier ALL THE TIME.
TAKING IT THE OTHER WAY, why would the Transportation
Department put the barrier except for stopping the traffic
south on Alder? How did they justify this to the neighbors?
There must be a traffic count somewhere they don't want
to show or they have lost it. This barrier is "in your face"
