MINUTES <br />Eugene City Council <br />Harris Hall, 125 East 8th Avenue <br />Eugene, Oregon 97401 <br />May 14, 2018 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />Councilors Present: Emily Semple, Betty Taylor, Alan Zelenka, Jennifer Yeh, Mike Clark, Claire <br />Syrett, Chris Pyror <br />Councilors Absent: Greg Evans <br />Mayor Vinis opened the May 14, 2018, meeting of the Eugene City Council. <br />1. PUBLIC FORUM <br />1. Randall Cearley -asked Council not to implement the proposed fireworks ordinance. <br />2. David Larson - asked Council not to implement the proposed fireworks ordinance. <br />3. David Piccioni - voiced concern about putting cameras downtown. <br />4. Stefan Strek - spoke about his election campaign. <br />5. Jonathan Pincus - expressed dismay with Council decision regarding Hayward Field. <br />6. Jason Trout - asked Council to stay consistent with state fireworks law. <br />7. Teresa Bishow - expressed support for development of Striker Field using SDC park funds. <br />8. Joe Tanner - talked about zoning as it relates to churches and the burden it puts on them. <br />9. Dane Butler - expressed support for development of Striker Field using SDC park funds. <br />10. Kimberly Gladen - expressed concerns with drug sales at Saturday Market. <br />11. Thomas Alberti - voiced concerns about transportation regulations that have occurred recently. <br />12. Aaron Taylor - asked Council not to implement the proposed fireworks ordinance. <br />13. Quintin Cooper - asked Council to consider creating a Eugene Youth Advisory Committee. <br />14. Penny Patterson - expressed support for development of Striker Field using SDC park funds. <br />15. Shellee Corell - asked for enforcement of illegal fireworks instead of new ordinance. <br />16. Kaarin Knudson - provided an update on collaborative effort to supply more diverse housing. <br />17. Ariel Siufua -supported existing fireworks sales and cracking down on illegal ones. <br />18. Patrick Koch - supported fireworks sales as effective fundraiser; provides many beneifts. <br />19. Anthony Hopper - asked for enforcement of current illegal fireworks instead of new ordinance. <br />• There has been an extensive public process regarding the public passenger vehicle code. <br />• Support the young man who spoke about creating a Youth Advisory Committee. <br />2.
