You may also want to share this information with others in your neighborhood. <br />What Is a Public Hearing? <br />A public hearing is an opportunity for community members to provide comments on the proposed land use changes <br />described above. These comments will go to a Hearings Official who will consider them in their decision. The Hearings <br />Official's decision whether or not to approve the proposed land use changes are based on applicable approval criteria <br />outlined in the City's land use code. <br />What are the Approval Criteria? <br />As part of the review process, land use changes are reviewed for compliance with specific approval criteria (criteria are <br />the standards or rules that a decision maker uses to base a decision on). For a Zone Change, the applicable approval <br />criteria is found at Section 9.8865 of the Eugene Code. The applicable adopted plans include the Eugene-Springfield <br />Metropolitan Area General Plan (Metro Plan) and the Laurel Hill Plan and South Hills Study.
