From:Nelson Lopez
To:GIOELLO Nick R
Subject:PDF 25-01 & SDR 25-02
Date:Tuesday, February 17, 2026 2:31:34 PM
You don't often get email from nelsonsinthewhit@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
[EXTERNAL ]
My name is Nelson Lopez and I own Nelson's in the Whit and have been living in the Videra
Oak Meadows area for a little over a year and have truly enjoyed the natural Oregon scenery
with the wildlife and the streams that was deemed a protected Goal 5 site originally. During
the approval process, the city designated the entire area as a Goal 5 and now somehow it's not?
That doesn't seem right. Wetland 2B obviously does not meet the minimum 25-foot setback
requirement. Are we just forcing this along for the money, despite how it will negatively
impact our natural resources that were already deemed protected land despite the Oregon
wildlife?
Truly, it's just surreal that we are even having to have this conversation. It's already been
deemed protected by the city and somehow we're getting an override? What is Eugene turning
into? It's supposed to be a city that loves, protects, and cherishes the natural environment. Not
this GOP led agenda of saying "screw you" to the environment! We need to stand on our
morals and not sell out for money once again.
Thank you for your time.
Nelson
