University of Oregon <br />Indoor Football Practice Facility <br />Sign Variance Application January 22, 2025 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />8 <br />4.0 APPROVAL CRITERIA <br />The subject property is zoned PL Public Land and is subject to General Office Sign Standards in <br />EC 9.6655. EC 9.6655 restricts the number, size, location, and dimensions of signs in the PL <br />Zone. 9.8760 establishes the approval criteria for variances, including variances to the sign <br />development standards included in EC 9.6655. <br /> <br />Section 4.1 shows findings of compliance with EC 9.6655 General Office Sign Standards and <br />notes where variances are requested. Section 4.2 shows findings of compliance with the <br />variance approval criteria in EC 9.8760. Findings are provided in Plain text with criteria in bold <br />indented text. <br />4.1 General Office Sign Standards <br />EC 9.6655 General Office Sign Standards: <br />The general office sign standards are hereby created and applied to all land as set <br />forth below. Signs are regulated to accommodate the office buildings and other <br />public uses that are commonly located within these zones and because of the <br />proximity of residential areas. <br />(1) Corresponding Zones. The provisions of this section apply to all property <br />located within the following zones: GO and PL. <br />As noted above, the subject site is within the PL Zone. The following provisions apply. <br />(2) Permitted Sign Types. Signs allowed under general office sign standards <br />shall be limited to the following types: <br />(a) Awning signs; <br />The variance request does not involve awning signs. <br />(b) Digital signs; <br />The variance request does not involve digital signs. <br />(c) Electronic message centers; <br />The variance request does not involve electronic message centers. <br />(d) Freestanding signs;
