I understand the planning
department is pushing for a reversal of the first hearing and denial of the planned
development. I am deeply disturbed that there is unprecedented pressure to reverse the
ruling without any of the specifics or concern expressed in the first hearing.
This street should be public and the fire department has serious issues with the width and
egress of the proposed property. there is nothing new from the developer in the appeal. The
problems that arose in the first hearing are not addressed or simply want the city to approve
this regardless of the problems this will create and the impact on the wetlands, wildlife, and
neighborhood. I do not understand why the department is pushing for this. I realize that there
is a shortage of affordable housing but make no mistake these are not going to be section 8
housing or low priced. I plan on attending the meeting and hope to hear the rationale of the
pressure to over turn the first hearing.
It certainly would behoove the city to clean up loopholes in Goal 5 because it defeats the
whole purpose of protecting what makes this city great.
Deborah Killian
2525 blacktail drive
Appeal Testimony (PDT 24-01 & ST 24-03) - Batch #1 Page 9 of 43
