Learn why this is important
[EXTERNAL ]
Hi Nick,
I'm writing concerning the development stated above . We were the first house built in
the 2nd addition. We have lived in our home for 20 years. We are concerned about the
impact of allowing middle houses on steep ground that has dangerous slopes and will
impact existing homes below on Hawkins and Videra. Here are some of our concerns
EC 9.4930(3) (J( protects Category C streams (that’s what our Goal 5 Inventory stream is)
during construction when they need to be crossed, by having standards that the developer must
meet.
We feel this issue is not being asked of the developer before they get approval. How does the
city plan to address this?
EC 9.6815 (2)(D) Requires secondary access for fire and emergency medical vehicles.
Since the developer is applying for middle housing as an option they should be required to
have secondary access for emergency vehicles.
They prefer not to put a street to the north end at all because they’d lose a lot or two. We need
safety over the quantity of lots the builder wants.
Another issue that needs to be considered by the city is the impact of Traffic since they are
applying for middle housing this will affect all future developments like this. If the city allows
middle housing without a traffic study it will have a devastating effect on the environment in
our area. The city must address this issue before approving this project.
Sherman & Sandy Terry
2909 Blacktail Dr
Eugene, Or 97405
