From:Jeff Parker
To:Eugene RR-SC Plan
Subject:River Road Santa Clara Plan
Date:Tuesday, March 12, 2024 1:40:08 PM
You don't often get email from jtpark30@hotmail.com. Learn why this is important
[EXTERNAL ]
Good Afternoon, Mayor Vinis, City Council, City Manager, and County Commissioners;

My name is Jeff Parker. My family and I have been residents of North Eugene for over 20
years. During those years we have seen our neighborhood evolve in both positive and
negative ways relative to public investment and attention. We are so grateful for a brand-new
High School and the emergence of the Santa Clara Community Park – assets that support the
vision that my neighbors and I share for a livable, vibrant community.

I am writing to request that you act to adopt the neighborhood plan, the action plan, and the
code amendments in total recommended by the River Road/Santa Clara neighborhood plan
CAC. These recommendations were built from six years of good faith engagement with the
planning commission by a smart, willing, and engaged team of neighbors. They have
volunteered hundreds of hours to make our community a vibrant place that is human-scale
and pedestrian friendly. They have provided updates to their work and supported a robust
public engagement process. We ask that you honor this thoughtful public process with the
approval of the CAC recommendations. Your approval will help ensure that our community
can develop lots for future housing needs as opposed to more car lots and storage facilities.

My wife and I chose North Eugene as the place to raise our family and build a community. It is
a wonderful place to live. We need your help for it to retain these qualities into the future.

Thank you for your support and consideration.
Jeff Parker
3
