The City has determined that the proposed land <br />use code amendments may affect the permissible uses of your property, and other properties in the affected <br />area, and may change the value of your property. More detail is provided below. <br />A ft~h <br />WIPlanning Commission <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />Tuesday, March 8, 2022, 5:30 p.m. <br />Virtual Meeting (See attendance information on last page) <br />The Eugene Planning Commission will hold a virtual public hearing to consider: <br />File Name Willamette River Greenway Code Amendments (CA 22-1) <br />Request: Planning Commission to hear the proposal and make a recommendation to the <br />City Council for a land use code amendment adopting a set of clear and objective <br />standards housing within the Willamette River Greenway. <br />Willamette River Greenway Code Amendments <br />Intensification of uses, changes in use, or developments require special consideration before being <br />permitted within the boundaries of the Willamette River Greenway. Oregon Statewide Planning Goal 15 <br />requires that regulations governing lands within the Willamette River Greenway be designed to protect, <br />conserve, enhance, and maintain the natural, scenic, historical, agricultural, economic, and recreational <br />qualities of lands along the Willamette River. Development, including the development of housing, is <br />permitted within the Greenway but a Willamette Greenway permit is required prior to development. <br />The proposed Willamette River Greenway Code Amendments are intended to provide a clear and <br />objective set of approval criteria and standards for the review and approval of proposed housing <br />development within the Willamette River Greenway, consistent with the requirements of ORS 197.307 <br />and Goal 15.
