LOADING SPACE: An off-street space or berth on the same lot <br />with a building for the temporary parking of a commercial vehicle <br />while loading or unloading merchandise or materials, and which <br />abuts upon a street, alley, or other appropriate means of access. <br />LOT: Land occupied or to be occupied by a building and its acces- <br />sory buildings, including such open spaces as are required under <br />this Ordinance and having frontage upon'a street. <br />LOT AREA: The total area measured on a horizontal plane within <br />the lot lines of a lot. <br />LOT DEPTH: The horizontal distance between the front and rear <br />lot lines measured in the mean direction of the side lot lines. <br />LOT LINE, FRONT: The private property line contiguous with the <br />public street line or place. -For corner lots the front lot line <br />shall be the narrowest street-frontage or as shovm on the official " <br />plat of the property. <br />LOT LINE }.SEAR: A lot line which is opposite and most distant <br />from the front lot line. In the case of a triangular shaped lot, <br />the rear lot line for building purposes shall be assumed to be a <br />line ten (10) feet in length within the lot parallel to and at <br />the maximum distance from the front lot line. <br />LOT LM, SIDE: Any lot line which is not a front or rear lot <br />line. <br />LOT WIDTH- The horizontal distance between the side lot lines <br />measured at right.angles-to the lot depth at a point midway <br />between the front and rear lot lines. <br />NONCONFORMING USE: A building, structure, or land use which <br />lawfully existed at the time this Ordinance became effective, <br />but does not conform to the use regulations,'setbacks, maximum <br />lot coverage, or other provisions herein established for the <br />:L% district or zone in,which it has been classified by this <br />Ordinance. <br />PARKING AREA, AUTOMOBILE: Space within a public parking area, <br />or a building, exclusive of driveways, ramps, columns, office, <br />and work areas, for the temporary parking or storage of one (1) <br />automobile. <br />PARKING AREA, PUBLIC: Privately or publicly owned property, <br />other than streets or alleys, used for the parking of four (4) <br />or.more automobiles and open for public use, whether free, for <br />accommodation of clients or customers,.or for.hourly, daily, <br />or monthly rental fees. <br />SITE-RESIDENTIAL An area of more'or less intensive development,, <br />surrounding.a dwelling,-not.less than.si.xty (b0), feet wide nor: <br />
