6.The several large buildings and parking areas would have a negative visual impact on users of <br />the River Bank Trail. <br />7.The design runs counter to one of the adopted Pillars of Envision Eugene, which define our <br />community's values: “to protect, restore, and enhance natural resources.” <br />I hope that our community's values will be the dominant factor in reviewing this development proposal, <br />rather than the almighty dollar. The project site has high value to the community because of its scenic, <br />vegetative, and open space qualities, and its proximity to the Willamette River and the River Bank <br />Trail. It provides beautiful, open vistas for the thousands of pedestrians and cyclists who travel along <br />this public right-of-way throughout the year. Eugene is a special in large part because of its beauty <br />spaces like this one.
