The Applicant proposes to <br />use this land for university uses (programs and activities carried out by the University of Oregon) <br />and research that complements the university. The Applicant obtained prior Conditional Use <br />2 <br />Permit approval for development on the subject property in 1988 primarily for the purposes of a <br />research park (research that complements the university), also known as the Riverfront Research <br />Park. Following Conditional Use Permit approval, the Applicant and City executed a Conditional <br />Use Permit Agreement that, among other things, established a time schedule for completion of <br />construction extending to October 10, 2012.
