Fire Department Access <br />Based on a review of the initial Fire Department Land Use comments for the Capital <br />Hill PUD - PDT17-1 by Schirmer Satre Landscape Architects, the "dead end fire <br />department access road" no longer exists. This portion of the development, after <br />review, removed an access road that supported lots on a private drive originally serving <br />lots #1 and #4. Capital Hill Road will now dead end but this dead end road will not <br />exceed 150 ft, thus removing the requirement for an acceptable fire department <br />apparatus turn around. <br />(Original Fire Department Comments - Dead End Fire Department Access Road - 3117117) <br />1. Dead End Fire Department Access Roads Reference 2014 Eugene Fire Code 503.2.5 - At the N end of Capitol Drive and <br />specifically the private drive intersecting LOTS #1, #4 <br />a. A Dead End Fire Department Access Road exceedinq 150ft situation exists startinq from <br />the SW corner of LOT#3 and terminatinq at LOT#4 <br />b. The total lenqth of this section is approximately 390ft <br />C. 2014 Eugene Fire Code 503.2.5 requires an approved area for turning around fire <br />apparatus where a Dead End Fire Department Access Road exists. <br />d. The Fire Department proposes an `Acceptable Alternative To The 120ft Hammerhead" <br />as shown in the 2014 Eugene Fire Code Appendix D "Figure D103.1" with the 70ft lane <br />extending to the South between LOTS#1, #4 on the N Private Drive <br />Page 376 <br />
