Attachment C
G10ELL0 Nick R Attachment B
c
From: tom hopkins <tomhop333@gmail.com>
Sent: Monday, December 11, 2017 4:24 PM
To: GIOELLO Nick R
Subject: capital hill PUD
Re: application for the PICT-17-10
I am opposed to this development plan. My primary concern is safety. The narrow winding streets are even
now not safe for the many bicyclists going to UO, school children walking with parents and cars waiting behind
parked cars for the oncoming cars to clear. There is already now neither adequate no-parking regulations, nor
proper pedestrian and bicycle lanes nor even a way for people to get off the road in many places (especially on
Spring Blvd.) In the summer especially cars line up waiting to pass walkers, jogging teams, bikers, parked
cars with no way on the curves to see what is coming.
To have increased traffic of at least 24%, and deal with the long term development of building 38 homes using
heavy trucks and trailers going up and down Capital Hill and Spring Blvd would exponentially increase the
safety risk already here now. With no way to widen the road, how can the city approve such a plan?
The city of Eugene must make sure the safety of its citizens is primary before any development is approved. To
go ahead with this plan without another access road is to risk our safety. To then allow years of building trucks
on this little road is creating a situation where accidents will happen. On the grounds of safety alone, I urge you
to deny this application.
I ask this letter be entered into the record and that you confirm receipt.
Sincerely,
Tom Hopkins
Alta Vista Court, Eugene 97403
2410
Page 368
