Eugene City Council
January 20, 2015
As for the legal rationale for choosing these 35 acres, we are confident the City will be able to
justify adding this acreage to the UGB before adding in Agricultural land. This is one of those
rare win-win situations rarely seen in our city. These 35 acres do not have Agricultural soils, the
City receives land they have already designated as a park in the Metro Plan, and the gravel pond
can be utilized to support conservation efforts. How will the City justify to the LCDC adding
Agricultural land to the UGB without adding these lands first? Given the statutory priorities for
adding land to a UGB, it will be a tough case to make.
Attached are two graphics that show the ES&G properties identified by yellow dashes on a Lane
County Plan Designation Map and an area location map.
Please suggest to staff that they take a closer look at this acreage.
We look forward to taking part in the more formal proceedings that will wrap up the Envision
Eugene project. Thank you for your consideration.
Sinc - y
Bill oos
Attachments:
Exhibit A - Lane County Plan Designation Map
Exhibit B - Eugene Sand & Gravel Area Location Map
