In general, I think there should be a wider scope of the Traffic Impact Analysis because I am concerned about additional
traffic on side streets in the surrounding area. Already 31stAve and 33rd are used as corridors for east to west traffic.-
Ferry, Alder, Kincaid, Harris, Onyx, University,31st, and 32nd street will all receive more traffic as a result of this project(
R-9.8650-A, R-9.8650-C1, R-9.8650-F-8.1.1-8.1.4, R-9.8650-F-9). There seems to be little mention of this kind of analysis
and as traffic gets heavier, motorists will try to take short cuts on these side streets. There needs to be safe crossings for
pedestrians and cyclists at the intersections of these streets and Hilyard, 32nd, 33rd, 31st., and even 30th.
In addition to asking for mitigation of traffic at the above mentioned streets for cars, pedestrians and cyclists, a wider
TIA scope, And analysis of AM peak hours. I would like to make the following suggestion. If the development were scaled
down to three stories instead of five, there would be less traffic and some of these problems would not be so serious R-
9.8650-A. Also that would make the development be more compatible with the existing neighborhood.
Thank you for taking these points into consideration, Emily Fox
z
