BERG-JOHANSEN Erik
From:
Elaine Zablocki <ElaineZablocki@ezab.net>
Sent:
Tuesday, January 10, 2017 2:13 PM
To:
BERG-JOHANSEN Erik
Subject:
development at 32nd and Hilyard
I live at 34th and Ferry.
I am very concerned to learn about a five-story building planned for 32nd and Hilyard.,
Traffic is already a problem in this area, and it seems that such a large building will have a substantial impact on our
neighborhood.
The Amazon Corner TIA proposes very little mitigation for increased traffic created by Amazon Corner residents. I am
writing you today to request an expanded Traffic Impact Analysis addressing specific concerns including:
increased traffic on residential side streets such as Ferry, Alder, Kincaid, Harris, Onyx, 31st Avenue, and 32nd
Ave
(R-9.8650-F-8.1.3, R-9.8650-A, R-9.8650-C1, R-9.8650-F8.1.1- 8.1.4)
lack of safe crossings for pedestrians and cyclists, (R-9.8650-G.2, R-9.8650-C1)
lack of refuges for vehicles entering/leaving Hilyard at 31st Avenue
(R-9.8650-F-8 and 10, and R-9.8650-C1.)
I understand that the current study was only done for late afternoon hours. Please do an expanded study that includes
morning school and work rush hour patterns
(R-9.8650-F-4.1.1, 2, 4, 5, 6, R-9.8650-F-4.49, 5.1) .
I will follow your reports and Planning Commission meetings on this topic with great interest.
Sincerely,
Elaine Zablocki
