BERG-JOHANSEN Erik
From: gunnar@geoscience-or.com
Sent: Thursday, August 27, 2015 11:26 AM
To: FLOCK Gabriel; BERG-JOHANSEN Erik; Bill Blix; WOSTMANN Jan (SMTP); Stephanie
Midkiff
Subject: Oregon State Plane Coordinate System Statute
Gabe, Erik et al.: Here is the link to ORS 93.312 1 found on the web. It clearly states that:
A description of land that contains coordinates associated with the position of a point on a land
boundary must:
(a) Use the Oregon Coordinate System;
ORS 93.312 - Oregon Coordinate System - 2013 Oregon Revised Statutes
ORS 93.312 - Oregon Coordinate
System - 2013 Oregon R...
ection: 312, Year: 2013, Last Accessed: 2014-
Seems to me that this statute has to apply to any maps that can be used to describe the position of
the POS north boundary. And, according to Bill Clingman, it applies to the tax lot maps, and that is
why LCOG's maps, which are all based on Lane County surveys and tax lot maps, are all rotated to
conform to the State Plane Coordinate System. See what you think. Maybe it's initially more of a
legal question than a technical question and only turns into a technical question if it is established by
the attorney that the map describing the POS/PRO boundary must indeed be presented in the State
Plane Coordinate System, the same as the TL maps?
Gunnar Schlieder, Ph.D., CEG
(541) 607-5700 (ofc)
(541) 729-4271 (cell)
Laurel Ridge Record (Z 15-5) Page 757
