FLOCK Gabriel
From:
Tiffany Edwards <tiffanyedwardspc@gmail.com>
Sent:
Monday, May 6, 2019 3:58 PM
To:
FLOCK Gabriel
Cc:
SOMMERS Lauren A
Subject:
Potential Conflict Statement
Importance: High
Hi Gabe,
I know I put this on the record at our meeting in April, but wanted you to have it in writing. In an abundance of caution,
I am declaring a potential conflict of interest with regards to the Downtown Riverfront:
The Planning Commission will consider a package of land use applications related to a proposed redevelopment of the
Downtown Riverfront. My employer, the Eugene Chamber of commerce has expressed support for the proposed
redevelopment. I am not aware of any financial benefit or detriment to the Chamber that could result from my actions
or recommendations as a Planning Commissioner related to the Downtown Riverfront application package. However, in
an abundance of caution and pursuant to ORS 244.120, Eugene Code sections 2.333 and 9.7065, and the bylaws of the
Eugene Planning Commission, I am declaring a potential conflict of interest with respect to the proposed Downtown
Riverfront package. It is possible that the redevelopment of the riverfront could bring new business to town, which
could financially benefit the Chamber of Commerce. I understand that after declaring this potential conflict of interest, I
may still participate in the deliberations and decision of the Planning Commission. I understand my responsibility in a
quasi-judicial setting. I take it seriously that I need to remain unbiased during this process. I have the ability to set aside
any personal views and to evaluate the Downtown Riverfront application package based solely on the evidence and
argument in the record and the applicable approval criteria.
ThanksR.
Tiffany
Tiffany Edwards
Planning Commissioner I City of Eugene
TiffanvEdwardsPC@gmail.com
Mobile 541-678-3370
Messages to and from this e-mail may be available to the public under Oregon Public Records Law.
