March 7, 2017
TO: Lane County Planning Commission and Eugene Planning Commission
FROM: Jim Welsh, Commercial Real Estate Broker (Oregon Lic #201208762)
First know that it's my understanding that jobs, parks, and schools are going to be appealed.
Therefore, I see no need for two ordinances any longer when one will do the job.
It is important to consider the Envision Eugene efforts as only helping to create ambiguous
boundaries for Residential land on the Metro Plan that encourages repeated litigation (time
and money) when determining what land can be zoned for housing. Furthermore, it has been
evident that the Eugene City Council is willing to kick this issue further into the future when it is
clear State Statute is requiring a decision to be made on residential buildable lands, soon than
later.
Please, consider working towards a solution that will respect State Statute and the working
population needing housing and jobs in Eugene.
Best regard,
Jim Welsh
1165 Pearl St.
Eugene, OR 97401
jdwelshco@msn.com
(541)554-8043 Cell
(541)302-3863 Office
(541)359-2010 Home
Lic #201208762 (Oregon)
