The tests were conducted at approximately the transition from the Fat Clay layer to the surface of the hard, <br />weathered Eugene Formation stratum, which was encountered at the testing locations at about 16 inches bgs. <br />We performed a washed gradation (ASTM D1140) on a sample collected from the bottom of IT-1 and IT-2, in <br />order to classify the soil. The results of our washed gradations are presented in Table 2 below.
