ORDINANCE NO. 20672 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20650 (TEMPORARY <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF "SAFE PARKING" AND "SAFE TENT" SITES THAT <br />ARE LARGER THAN ALLOWED UNDER SECTION 4.816 OF THE EUGENE <br />CODE, 1971 ); AND EXTENDING ITS SUNSET DA TE . <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds as follows: <br />A. Pursuant to the City Council's adoption of Ordinance No. 20650 on April 28 , 2021 , <br />the City began to temporarily allow the establishment of sites that can accommodate a larger <br />number of vehicles or tents than allowed by Section 4 .816 of the Eugene Code , 1971. <br />B. The City now wishes to extend the sunset date that was established by Ordinance <br />No . 20650 until June 30 , 2024 , and to eliminate the provisions of Ordinance No. 20650 that are <br />no longer necessary . <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORGAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1 . Section 2 of Ordinance No . 20650 is deleted. <br />Section 2 . The automatic sunset / repeal provision adopted in Section 4 of Ordinance <br />No . 20650 is amended by replacing it with the following : "This Ordinance shall sunset and be <br />repealed on June 30, 2024 , unless extended or made permanent by future Council action ." <br />Section 3 .
