Eugene Planning. The water from the meadow eventually flows into central Eugene. If you
tarmac over the south hills, flooding downsteam will increase. Houston allowed this sort of
development, and the resulting floods have been catastrophic.
2. Due to a change in regulations, there is now no protection for the trees in Videra
Meadow, despite the fact that it is an Area of Prominent and Plentiful Vegetation. Put simply,
this is the prettiest part of the south hills. I am sure that the developer will take the first
opportunity to cut down as many native white oaks as possible. There must be some code or
way you can ensure at least part of this wonderful site can be left as it is.
I am not opposed to some development on the site. But it should be safe and hopefully
will preserve at least part of this wonderful meadow.
Dr. Mark Biggin PhD
2478 Randy Lane
Eugene OR 97405
markbiggin@sbcglobal.net
