believe proposed land use amendments that modify long established code and
restrict housing development should not be approved without first determining
that any benefits from the proposed restriction outweigh the community benefits
from leaving the code in place. Given our worsening housing crisis, I don't think
this proposed amendment meets that test.
Our city needs all the housing capacity we currently have, and reducing our
existing C2 maximum height in the RRSC area will reduce that capacity. We don't
have excess housing capacity to give up in this particular area.
Thanks for considering my input and thank you for the work you do for the community.
Ken Beeson
Ward 2
