3. GOALS & OBJECTIVES <br />STAKEHOLDER FEEDBACK <br />The goals and objectives of the project were informed by the River Road -Santa Clara <br />neighborhood planning process as well as through focused stakeholder interviews, CAC <br />and TAC meetings, and Public Workshop #1. There is a strong community desire for the <br />corridor to include gathering spaces, provide access to nature, support local businesses <br />and farms, and facilitate opportunities for compatible housing and commercial growth. <br />See Appendix E — Public Involvement Final Report - for more detail on stakeholder <br />feedback. <br />GOALS & OBJECTIVES <br />Livability <br />Promote land use and development that enhances neighborhood character, increases <br />access to daily needs and is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. <br />• Promote context -sensitive urban form and transitions between districts <br />• Provide opportunity for a mix of housing types to ensure affordability across <br />income ranges & household compositions <br />• Provide opportunity for public amenities, gathering spaces and natural areas <br />Prosperity <br />Support economic development, revitalization and redevelopment to improve the <br />neighborhood economy and empower local residents and local businesses. <br />• Increase the potential for new jobs including opportunities for local -serving <br />businesses and employment base <br />• Promote a balanced approach that increases property values and tax revenue <br />from new development, while minimizing gentrification and displacement <br />• Promote development types that are economically feasible and implementable <br />over the short-, medium- and long-term <br />Multimodal Transportation <br />Promote a connected and efficient multimodal transportation system that is equitable, <br />accessible and safe. <br />• Increase number of potential transit riders through the placement of housing and <br />jobs within '/4 to 1/2 mile of Neighborhood Centers and transit stops <br />• Increase transit mode -share <br />• Improve multimodal connectivity and access to ensure safe access to schools, <br />community destinations, jobs, housing and transit <br />RIVER ROAD CORRIDOR STUDY 24 <br />86 <br />
