Learn why this is im oa rtant <br />[EXTERNAL <br />I have served as a CAC member representing River Road since the beginning of the process. I <br />am commenting in favor of the Plan. I do believe that this Plan does represent the concerns <br />and interests of the River Road and Santa Clara residents. We do need a new Plan to replace <br />the refinement plan that provides the proper direction for our community. Many comments <br />have highlighted the shortfall of the Plan from the original goals that we had desired for our <br />neighborhood character, but we took guidance from the city as to why these could no longer <br />be pursued within the document. It's interesting that so many negative comments are entirely <br />focused on the limitations on rental/boating/automotive future development. After hearing <br />this it sounds like we may want to provide an exemption for River Ave, but there are very few <br />other negative comments to the other parts of the Plan. The Plan and its' Action Items are very <br />broad in scope and comprehensive, and meant to be inclusive of all the public feedback we <br />received over all the years. I believe we made a very good faith effort to engage the entire <br />community. There were ample opportunities to provide input and feedback. I do hope that <br />you see all of the good intentions that went into the Plan. It's not perfect, but it's the best <br />document that we were able to put together. There are many residents who have worked <br />for years in our community striving for a document that reflects our values and it would be a <br />shame to see another year's long effort not make it to the finish line. <br />Thanks, <br />Hans Wittig <br />1085 N.
