2. Design Principles <br />This section provides the Design Principles for the River Road Corridor Area. The Design Principles will <br />not be included in the zoning code. The Design Principles are included only in the Code Framework to <br />help provide context for key code elements. The purpose of the Design Principles are as follows: <br />• Inform topics regulated by the River Road Zones <br />• Inform the intended results of the regulations <br />• Inform how the regulations are applied <br />• Provide a connection between the River Road/Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan and the River <br />Road Zones <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Draft Design Principles <br /> <br />Access to the River – Provide direct routes to the natural resource amenities of the Willamette River, <br />especially for people traveling on foot and bicycle, and opportunities to see and hear the River from <br />throughout River Road and Santa Clara. <br />Green Network – Connect the neighborhoods through parks, natural resource areas, streets with <br />trees and stormwater facilities, and wildlife habitat permeating through public and private spaces. <br />CC Agenda - Page 39
