BOHNER Rodney T
From: Elizabeth Johnson
Sent: Wednesday, June 09, 2021 10:33 AM
To: BOHNER Rodney T
Subject: McKenzie River Motors file # SR 21-1/TIA 21-1/ARB 21-1 2225 Coburg
Rodney,
My name is Elizabeth Johnson and I live at 2802 Elyisum Ave. I have reviewed the site review package for the McKenzie
River Motors land use proposal. I have two objections, as outlined below.
Objection #1
The proposed plan indicates the existing curb cut on Elysium avenue is be moved slightly west, closer to the existing
intersection. Just east of the property, Elysium curves to the north, which makes the existing curb cut significantly
difficult to see and the proposed curb cut very difficult to see. Traffic pulling out onto Elysium will not have a good view
of oncoming traffic that is heading west of Elysium. Elysium is a safe neighborhood street. So safe that local school
districts have bus drop offs close by this property. Adding significantly more vehicles to a curb cut that is difficult to see
for oncoming traffic will make the street less safe.
Objection #2
The proposed plan appears to eliminate the existing landscaping along Elysium Ave and retain the existing street
trees. The existing landscape is tall shrubs that provide visual privacy and sound barrier between the commercial
property and local neighborhood. Keeping tall landscaping along Elysium helps in making the parking lot on the GO
properties more compatible with the neighboring residential development.
I hope you will consider these objections to the proposed land use action. I believe these concerns can be addressed
without undue burden on the developer.
Thank you,
Ellie Johnson
2802 Elysium Ave
Eugene, OR 97401
