BOHNER Rodney T
From:April Mills Johns <aprilmillsjohns@yahoo.com>
Sent:Tuesday, June 19, 2018 11:41 PM
To:BOHNER Rodney T; Ebriarcliff; Greenway Guardians
Subject:Lombard Apartment complex
This letter is to address my concerns about a planned development of an 84 unit apartment complex possibly
being built directly behind my home. I understand growth development and my concern is not that the
development of affordable housing is taking place in my backyard because I am sure we can all agree that
affordable housing is very much needed in our city. My concern is the number of units and additional traffic
that will be created in an already congested location.

The ingress and egress of Fir and Lombard streets are not only used by the many residents of this
neighborhood but also by people who frequent Maurie Jacobs park. There is also a preschool that resides in
that park and parents drive in and out at least twice a day if not more. There are people that come in and out
to access the bike path and the footbridge to and from Valley River Center. In addition there are times in the
spring and summer months when there are literally masses of cars who come for functions and festivals that
take place in the park. During these types of events Briarcliff Lane the street that I live on becomes the
overflow parking area. I truly can't imagine with all this traffic we are already subject to doesn't bring up
concern for the planning department that another 100 or more vehicles will be coming in and out of an
already congested area. Briarcliff Lane is a dead end street and if there was ever an emergency situation and
vehicles needed to exit the area quickly when one of these event was taking place it would be a travesty to say
the least.

Another concern I have stems from the fact that I run an Adult Foster Care Home for Senior citizens in this
area and there is another one directly across the street, in addition to other people who are older and have
mobility issues in the neighborhood. These people walk slower, react slower and are not always attentive to
their surroundings. Having access to the park and the bike path keeps them moving and in our great
outdoors in a relatively safe environment. This issue is of particular concern to me since these folks mobility
is already limited and those limitations will be he heightened further with another 100 or so vehicles driving
in and out of this already congested area.

I truly hope that all of these concerns will be closely evaluated in this proposed 84 unit complex, because
there is already an existing community here that will be greatly affected. The only persons that will not be
affected in the investors who's only true concern would be financial gain.

Your attention and consideration on our behalf is greatly appreciated.

April Mills
Owner/Operator
Grammy Dee's House
1420 East Braircliff Lane
Eugene, OR 97404
(541)221-9753

1
