Here is the 2nd email for today. This is also from Faris Cassell and CW Murchison from
mid-October. I have included Mark Dahl in the distribution (as CW did in his original inquiry) but not
Eric from Public Works. Could you please coordinate with Eric as CW requested in the body of his
email?? Your response(s) should be back to Faris, CW, Tom, Cathy and me. Thanks!!
Forwarded Message
From: CW Murchison <cwmurchison@gmail. com>
To: Tom Bruno <brunoassoc@aol.com>; Susan Hoffman <shortgamesue@yahoo.com>
Cc: Faris <fcasseil@comcast.net>
Sent: Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 9:55:44 AM PDT
Subject: Fwd: CHPUD Questions about emergency access.
Dear Tom and Susan,
Below is an email that I sent Nick and Mark Dahl a couple weeks ago that I have yet to receive a response to. Faris asked
that I forward to you for centralized management.
Thanks so much, CW Murchison
Forwarded message
From: C Murchison <cwmurchison(Dgmail.com>
Date: Tue, Oct 17, 2017 at 2:44 PM
Subject: CHPUD Questions about emergency access.
To: GIOELLO Nick R <Nick. R.Gioello(cZci.eugene.or.us>, mark. h.dahl(a.ci.eugene.or.us
Cc: Faris <fcassell .comcast.net>
Good Afternoon,
I'm writing concerning a few questions that we, the CHPUD Response Team, have about the current and possible future
emergency access routes to the CHPUD site. If this message could be forwarded to Eric Favreau in Public Works, that
would be very much appreciated.
Nick, in your earlier emails with Faris, you indicated that the Fire Department and Public Works were discussing the safety
problems of the emergency access routes to the top of Capital Hill, as noted in Mark Dahl's 3/27/17 letter in response to
the CHPUD application.
Q1. Are the current discussions between the Fire Department and Public works only concerning current safety problems,
or are they also discussing how those safety problems would be exacerbated by additional traffic created by the addition
of over 30 homes at the top of Capital Hill? (Simply is there more to the discussions than just current safety issues that
have been identified in the 3-27-17 letter?)
Q2. What roads have been included in these discussions surrounding safety issues for emergency access to Capital Hill?
(The 3-27-17 letter discussed multiple routes, and roads, and safety issues with each of them. The entire route and
alternates from the fire station to the top of Capital Hill could present many safety issues.)
Q3. Are the discussions including possible changes to the current (or future) road access to address the safety issues
raised in the 3-27-17 letter? and if so, what changes?
