The proposed development
will require significant upgrades to the water system which would include a new pump station
and associated piping.
There are options available for constructing a new pump station which vary in complexity and
cost. High level preliminary cost estimates for these options range in price between $1 million
and $3 million. There may, however, be cost sharing opportunities with EWEB, which would be
allocated based on a percentage of the lots served.
In addition, EWEB will need to budget for any such improvements and incorporate them into the
EWEB Water Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). This could affect the timing of the development
as the improvements would need to be scheduled along with other projects in the CIP based on
the resources available.
A Restrictive Covenant making development contingent on the new infrastructure being funded
and operational will also need to be executed and recorded prior to issuance of a water
availability letter, in accordance with ORS 92.090 4(b).
If you have additional questions, please contact me at 541-685-7464 or via email at
1 aura. farthingLa;eweb. org.
Sincer
Laura Farthing, Senior Engineer - Wate
Cc; Wally McCullough, Water Engineering Supervisor
Eric DeFreest, Luvas Cobb
Bill Kloos, Attorney
Nick Gioello, City of Eugene Planner
