' • "We don't know the answers to that at this time"
' I finally asked if they could at least write down our questions and get back to us with answers. One of
the OMC members pulled out a scrap of paper from her purse and jotted down a few things.
' Neither I nor my neighbor was ever contacted again with answers to our questions, nor were there any
follow ups with any of the neighbors over the concerns raised. In the past 30 days and talking to other
neighbors, they all had similar situations at this annex "meeting".
The site plans started being submitted to the city a short 2 months after this meeting at the annex with
no changes to address the concerns raised and no follow up with the neighbors! This was just another
thing to check off of their required list of "to do" items before they could submit. They did not care
what we had to say and they changed absolutely nothing to address our concerns.
In the past 30 days, we have been told by some of the members of OMC that Chuck Durrett and Katie
McCammett, the California architect/mentor and Financial adviser of this project, told the CIVIC group
that they should ignore the neighbor's concerns, and that this always happens. They told CIVIC the
neighbors will like you once you are here. This shows exactly why our questions and concerns were
completely ignored and that NOT ONE thing brought up by neighbors was put into consideration when
developing this plan.
In addition, in the past 30 days, OMC offered to do some mediation with our group. We got hopeful and
' participated in 2 informal and 2 formal mediations sessions with a paid mediator. Splitting the cost with
OMC - over $200 out of the neighborhoods pocket. However, we were hopeful that OMC was finally
going to listen to our concerns.
Unfortunately, after 4 meetings and countless hours of conversations and wasted time, OMC informed
us that they would be making no concessions and everything was moving forward as planned. Once
again, there was no respect for the neighborhood or any consideration given to our very real concerns.
Just wasted time and money.
