53. - Section 6004 of the OFC is amended by adding subsection 6004.2.2.11 Seismic shut- <br />off valve to provide: <br />6004.2.2.11 Seismic shut-off valve. Highly toxic or toxic compressed gases in amounts <br />exceeding the maximum allowable quantity per control area set forth in Table <br />5003.1.1(2) shall be provided with an automatic valve which is of a failsafe-to- <br />close design to shut off the supply of highly.toxic or toxic gases upon significant <br />seismic activity. <br />54. Appendix C, Footnote b to Table C105.1 of the OFC is amended to provide: <br />Table C105.1, Number and Distribution of Fire Hydrants: <br />b. Where streets are provided.with median dividers which cannot be crossed by firefighters pulling hose <br />lines, or where arterial streets are provided with four or more traffic lanes and have a traffic count <br />of more than 20,000 vehicles per day, hydrant spacing shall average 500 feet on each side of the <br />street and be arranged on an alternating basis up to a fire-flow requirement of 7,000 gallons per <br />minute and 400 feet for higher fire-flow requirements. <br />55. Appendix D Section D101.1 of the OFC is amended to provide: <br />D101.1Scope. Fire apparatus access roads shall be in accordance with this appendix and all <br />other applicable requirements of the Oregon Fire Code and regulations and standards adopted by <br />the City of Eugene. The fire code official may be guided by the Oregon Department of Land <br />Conservation and Development's Neighborhood Street Design Guidelines, June 2001. <br />56. Appendix D Section D102.2 of the OFC is amended to provide: <br />D102.1 Access and Loading. Facilities, buildings or portions of buildings hereafter <br />constructed shall be accessible to fire department apparatus by way of an approved fire apparatus <br />access road with an asphalt, concrete or other approved driving surface capable of supporting the. <br />imposed load of fire apparatus weighing at least 80,000 pounds. <br />Dated and effective this 2 2- day of December, 2014. <br />Jon R.
