Are there areas that may be <br />7 pinched by urban uses and other nonresource land uses? Notches in urban areas? <br />8 Should allow for carve outs of conflicted parts of such areas. <br />9 <br />10 (B) Federal Wild and Scenic Rivers and State Scenic Waterways, including Related <br />11 Adjacent Lands described by ORS 390.805, as mapped by the applicable state or federal <br />12 agency responsible for the scenic program; <br />13 Concern/question: What about situations where suitable lands for urbanization <br />14 may exist on both sides of a designated waterway? Are there any such situations? <br />15 If so, can protection exist within an urban area with use of such tools as setbacks, <br />16 design standards, etc.? <br />17 (C) Designated Natural Areas on the Oregon State Register of Natural Heritage <br />18 Resources; <br />19 (D) Aquatic areas subject to Statewide Planning Goal 16 that are in a Natural or <br />20 Conservation management unit designated in an acknowledged comprehensive plan; <br />21 (E) Lands subject to acknowledged comprehensive plan provisions that implement <br />22 Statewide Planning Goal 17, Coastal Shoreland, Use Requirement l; <br />23 (F) Lands subject to acknowledged comprehensive plan provisions that implement <br />24 Statewide Planning Goal 18, Implementation Requirement 2; or <br />25 (d) The land is owned by the federal government and managed primarily for rural uses. <br />26 Concern/question: What are rural uses? Farm, forest, recreational development...? <br />27 (5) After excluding land from the preliminary study area under section (4), the local <br />28 government must adjust the area, if necessary, so that it includes an amount of land that is at <br />3 <br />
