Mr. Berg and members of the Southeast Neighbors board,
I am not sure how this information is gathered or how priorities are determined, but I talked to
members of the Board, City Council and Chris Henry from Public Works about the need for
traffic controls at Tugman Park over a year ago. I submitted a Traffic Calming Petition with 166
signatures to the City Council. Eric Johnson from Surface Operations was also notified of a
wheel-chair bound citizen living at 39th and Hilyard who does not have a safe crossing to access
the park.
Speed studies were completed by the City determining that the area qualified for traffic calming.
In spite of all of this community input and very real danger to the people using the park, it is
distressing to find that traffic safety at the park continues to be completely unaddressed. It has
not even been mentioned in this letter where it would be most appropriate to do so. I hope that
you will take the opportunity to address it now.
I would be happy to provide additional copies of the petition or contact information which may
be needed to do something effective to protect people who use the park.
Sincerely,
Diana Mardane
On Jan 9, 2017, at 4:06 PM, Southeast Neighbors <infoksoutheastneighbors.org> wrote:
