how the traffic analysis for the project has mitigated the increased traffic that the addition of so many people in
one small area will create. Given that there will be both residential and commercial uses of the 5-story
building I doubt that 160 parking spaces will be adequate. We will find many people parking on these small
residential streets. Even as things stand now, crossing Hilyard is a challenge, especially at rush hour. I notice
that the traffic study was not done during peak traffic hours. More attention should be paid to the difficulties
for motorists at rush hour.
Clearly the easiest way to mitigate traffic and congestion issues in a neighborhood is to lower the number of
residential units that are added to the mix. I believe that a three-story, mixed use building would better suit the
neighborhood conditions as they exist right now.
Thank you for you consideration, Kit Kirkpatrick
