BERG-JOHANSEN Erik
From: Newt <newt@hawaii.edu>
Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2017 1:53 PM
To: BERG-JOHANSEN Erik
Subject: Amazon Corners development erik.berg@ci.eugene.or.us
The most important problems this development creates are traffic and parking. You know very well that those
apartments will be filled mostly with adults, probably students, rather than two car families with children. The
City already allows developers to build fewer parking spaces than is needed by a family with two adults. At the
very least, the City should not approve the waiver the developer has requested for fewer parking spaces
than required by code.
Because of this massive development, our neighborhood will soon look like the University neighborhoods with
four cars per apartment trying to find parking on the nearby streets. That creates hazardous driving conditions, a
parking nightmare for nearby residents and bicycling hazards that Eugene residents should NOT have to deal
with.
Stop ruining our neighborhoods with massive developments that are allowed to have parking spaces for only a
small portion of the number of cars the residents of these apartments will obviously have.
Newt Chapin
