Attachment N-9
4. The resulting narrow island between McGrath's and ETP parking spaces must be
protected through the entire construction period, in order to limit disturbance to the
heavily rooted areas between the trees:
a. The existing cyclone fence should have orange plastic construction fencing
attached to it on both sides. The existing cyclone fence should stay intact except
for a permanent opening at the peninsula walk way.
b. Another east-west construction fence should parallel the entire cyclone fence on
the construction side at a point that allows for excavation for the parking lot curb.
c. No additional trenching or disturbance should occur past the excavation for the
ETP north parking area curb.
5. Following excavation for the northern most ETP parking spaces, and prior to
application of paving base or substrate, a proprietary source of myccrhiza
and the growth regulator pacloorutrazol should he applied by a certified arborist to
the entire area of parking spaces parallel to the cyclone fence.
6. Conifers (cedars and pines) on Highway right of way east of ETP project:
A. Place construction fencing on entire length of property line on east side.
This should provide adequate protection of the root zones of all those trees.
During construction, it is essential that the area between the construction fence
and the tree trunks, not be disturbed or compacted in any way. Also, grade in this
area must not be changed. These cedar trees are intolerant of of fill. Present
drainage situation should not be altered.
B. If feeder (small) roots are found on the construction side of the temporary fence,
the trees in question here should be watered during long dry periods in the
summer. (during construction only). 5 gallons per inch dbh, once per week.
In this case, water would be applied at a distance half way between the tree
trunk and the construction fence.
Note: Only if region receives less than an inch of rain in a four week period.
7. Pruning: All necessary pruning to the mapie.trees being kept on site needs to be done
Prior to commencement of construction activities.
8. Drought during construction: Providing water to trees during intense construction
activity in the summer would be advised for trees described in #1 (entrance lane), and
#2, if trees are retained. (see #6 B).
Report prepare by:
Ken Bali,
ISA Certifie ' Arborist #PN 58 , -A
