Private setbacks
There would really be no setback between our yard and the parking lot and
dumpster as I understand it. A setback is crucial here to preserve my
enjoyment of my view and the property in general. I understand that a chain
link fence is proposed against the western edge of the development. A brick
wall will go on the eastern side. I don't want another chain link fence to look
at.
Safe parking
I understand from the staff report that there are extra bike parking spaces being
provided. I need to make clear that this area is not bicycle friendly unless you
are experienced in dangerous or heavy traffic and/or very fit. I cross
Willamette at 39th daily and 85% of the time people do not respect unmarked
crosswalks or the speed limit, nor do they use their turn signals. I would not
allow a child to ride their bike near here. In addition the area is naturally hilly.
Great for going somewhere, but not so much for coming home unless you are
very fit.
Thank you in advance for the opportunity to comment on this proposal!
Hannah S.
