5. Close the gap between the current supply of park and recreation facilities and the <br />projected demand. <br />6. Expand opportunities for the development of private recreational facilities. <br />Policies <br />H.l Develop a system of regional-metropolitan recreational activity areas based on a facilities <br />plan for the metropolitan area that includes acquisition, development, and management <br />programs. The Metro Plan and system should include reservoir and hill parks, the <br />Willamette River Greenway, and other river corridors, <br />1-1.2 Local parks and recreation plans and analyses shall be prepared by each jurisdiction and <br />coordinated on a metropolitan level. The ark standards ado ted b the a licable cit <br />and incorporated into the cit 's development code shall be used in local develo meat <br />rop - cesse <br />H.3 Accelerate the acquisition of park land in projected growth areas by establishing <br />guidelines determining where and when developers will be required to dedicate land for <br />pack and recreation facilities, or money in lieu thereof, to serve their developments. <br />1-1.4 Encourage the development of private recreational facilities. <br />H.5 Develop mechanisms and processes by which residents of an area to be served by a <br />neighborhood park, neighborhood center, or play lot can participate in the design, <br />development, and maintenance of the facility. <br />H,6 All metropolitan area parks and recreation programs and districts shall cooperate to the <br />greatest possible extent in the acquisition of public and private funds to support their <br />operations. <br />H.7 The City of Eugene shall cooperate with the University of Oregon in the resolution of any <br />loss of recreational facilities associated with development in the Riverfi-ont Park. <br />Laurel Ridge Record (Z 15-5) III-H-5 Page 248 <br />
