Appendix B <br />River Road Collision - May 19, 2011 <br />Notes: <br />• This sketch depicts an accident that occurred at 0740 on the morning of May 19, 2011. <br />• River Road is a large artery and it can be difficult to merge from Oakleigh Lane. <br />• Current traffic control is poor, and it is common for 3-4 cars to be backed up at the stop sign on <br />Oakleigh. <br />• A similar situation exists on Marion Lane. <br />• The difficulty encountered while merging with River Rd contributed to the accident depicted <br />a bove... Notice that Marion and Oakleigh are offset - a reality that adds to the difficulty of <br />assessing and merging with River Road., <br />• Adding 47 cars to Oakleigh Lane will have a very real impact with a linear projection we will <br />have 6-8 cars backed up instead of 3-4... <br />1310 <br />
