I retired 3 <br />years ago from a long career in <br />computer software development and technical writing. My work <br />took me to several cities and <br />several countries, where I met many people and had the good <br />fortune to experience"various <br />cultures. I moved to Eugene over 2 years ago and have <br />greatly enjoyed discovering more and more <br />about this city. <br />I have known about cohousing for over 30 years, but in <br />Europe, where I had been living. so I was <br />delighted to learn about the oakleigh Meadow Cohousing <br />group, and joined as a member over a year <br />ago. As a single, retired older person, I look forward to <br />knowing my neighbors and living in an <br />intergenerational environment. And I look forward to <br />recapturing the neighborhood feeling I <br />experienced in Europe, with businesses, services, and other <br />amenities nearby, within walking <br />distance. <br />one of my strong personal values is RESPECT, and the values <br />of the oakleigh meadow group include <br />mutual respect, respect for the neighbors, the neighborhood, <br />and. for the environment. <br />The cohousing model allows residents to share resources,. <br />talents, and abilities.
