From: Heather Sielicki <br />To: GIO O Ni k R <br />Cc: TAYLOR Betty L <br />Subject: Re: CUP 14-003 <br />Date: Thursday, April 30, 2015 11:17:46 AM <br />Dear Mr. Gioello: <br />The possible placement of a cell tower in the heart of the Amazon Creek Corridor at 4060 W <br />Amazon Drive in Southeast Eugene has been a subject of great interest and concern for many <br />residents of the Southeast Neighbors area. <br />According to a survey conducted by the Friends of Amazon Creek, our neighbors responded <br />to the question "Are you concerned about the possibility of cell towers being built in your <br />neighborhood?" with an overwhelming majority of 86.6%. Only 13.4% answered "No." <br />For those answering "Yes," when asked to rate their specific concerns, strong concerns were <br />expressed about aesthetic values, "setback' from adjacent property lines, and loss of property <br />value. <br />The Southeast Neighbors Board requested that the City Council review and revise the City <br />Code to more effectively protect residential areas and take into account the concerns of local <br />citizens in regard to siting of telecommunications facilities. <br />In the instance of CUP application 14-003, which proposes placement of a <br />telecommunications tower on a residential zoned church property, we hereby request that the <br />Planning Division recommend denial and that the Hearing Officer deny this application. <br />Please enter this letter into the record. <br />Sincerely, <br />The Southeast Neighbors Board <br />
