TAYLOR Becky G
From: Cindy Allen <cindyallen2l@yahoo.com>
Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2014 1:08 PM
To: TAYLOR Becky G
Subject: Proposed Cell Tower at Crossfire Church 4060 W. Amazon
As someone who worked in the Emergency Room and originally from the
south-I saw the devastation to my town, first from industrial pollution and then
the Gulf Oil Spill.
I moved to Eugene-now a minister, Aaron Taylor of Crossfire Church at 4060
W. Amazon is trying to put up a 8-story cell tower + ground equipment in my
almost my backyard.
I had never heard of a church called Crossfire and looked them up on the
intemet. I Teamed that Crossfire runs 7 large fireworks outlets in Lane County
& Rev. Aaron Taylor had appeared before the Eugene City Council many times,
also several appearances on tv about the limiting of days that fireworks could be
used in Eugene. In one interview, he said that the church brings in $300,000
annually in fireworks sales. He is also a local television evangelist. Crossfire owns 2
churches in Lane County-one in Springfield and the newer one in Eugene.
In an interview with Bob Keefer of the Eugene Register Guard on Jan.
30, 2012 Rev. Taylor said that he was from Cottage Grove and attended the
Jimmy Swaggard Bible College in Baton Rouge, LA. The article
said that Taylor has always been a natural salesman and while in Louisiana
he talked himself into a job running a concession contract at LSU. Soon, he says he
was pulling in $5000 a week. (article enclosed.)
From the intemet, I learned that Crossfire International is Jimmy Swaggard's
Church. After the scandals of the 1990's, Swaggard's license as a minister in the
Assembly of God Church was permenately revoked. Swaggard re-organized as a non-
denominatiional church under the name Crossfire International. (enclosed)
On the internet, I was shocked to find that an LLC buy-out company
called Vertical Consultants promising huge returns on cell tower contracts was using
Rev. Aaron Taylor on their intemet site and also on their Face Book Page. Eugene
Church the Chosen One for Cell Tower Placement ( article enclosed.)
Many in the neighborhood have noted that in addition to de-valuing our
property. Taylor will also be de-valuing the church property if the tower is approved.
We have been told that a University chruch was in negotiation to buy the property when
Taylor came in and gave a bid that they couldn't match. Cell tower contracts are like
oil leases-Taylor could walk away from the property & still retain the lease but who
would ever want to buy a church with the liability of a 8-story cell tower. There
must be involved to offset the devaluation of this property. Insurance companies
are well aware of the future risks of properties with cell towers (health, fire, safety, etc.) and
are refusing to insure them.
The property at 4060 W. Amazon in Eugene has changed church ownerships
many times. Rev. Aaron Taylor of Crossfire Ministries bought the property from Rev.
Danny O'Neil of Calvary Chapel in 2012. Taylor took the name of the permit of the tower
with the city in the name of Calvary Chapel, the former owners of the property, not Crossfire.
Calvary Chapel not Crossfire was used in the letters to the neighbors telling of the meeting in
Jan 2014, Calvary Chapel was also used on the sign telling of the meeting. I looked up the
Calvary Chapel Association on the intemet for the Eugene/Springfield area and found that Aaron
Taylor has no affiliation with the Calvary Chapel Church Organization. There is mention of Brandon
Biondi #541-729-9643 on Wilakenzie Rd. There is a mention that the Calvary Chapel Church
at the 4060 W. Amazon site was closed in 2012 and that the pastor, Danny O'Neil has moved to
southern Califomia.where he is a youth minister in a Calvary Chapel Church. Even the ads in the
telephone book that Rev. Aaron Taylor and Crossfire pays for says Crossfire Ministries formerly Calvary
Chapel, as does the sign out in front of the building. To use the name of another church in a contract
for a 8-story cell tower, a church that one has no affiliation with-is fraud.
At the neighborhood meeting, Rev. Aaron Taylor made mention of the church board
members who were present at the meeting who would also have to approve going through with plans
for the cell tower. It only looks like Aaron Taylor's name is on the contract. Where are the other
names of the other board members? I assume that the other board members are of Crossfire not
Calvary Chapel. I have many concerns about Rev. Aaron Taylor, I assume that he operates as a
tax-exempt operation but he seems to be using his church more as business than as a church.
Sincerely,
Cindy Allen
PS We have a meeting with you this afternoon at 3pm. Will bring the articles from the internet that
mentioned above.
